This meditation can help you shine a light on the energetic qualities that are hosted in your heart.
Your physical heart has four chambers, and so does your spiritual heart.
Each chamber is the seat of a particular quality.
Becoming aware of the benefits – and also of the pitfalls, the shadow side !- of each quality can be a guide for you to understand and navigate your emotions.
Here you find a written guide line, as overview.
The audio file below has the full guidance.
You can use it while you practice the meditation.
Audiofile
In total, it takes about 20 min.
Once you have become familiar with it,
You can choose to simply meditate on one quality.
Listen to what your needs are on that day and enhance what is most beneficial for you. I practice it regularly as part of my inner emotional “house keeping.”
So, here we go:
At it’s base, there are four qualities: Full, open, clear and strong.
Each quality has a light – and a shadow side:
Full
Abundance, full of energy, generous, overflowing, giving.
Are you spreading it or are you being selective with it?
Being halfhearted, not knowing about your capacity to give
No sense of presence. Hedging your bets and being calculative with your love.
Open
The sensitivity of a very young child. Unprejudiced, the idea of right and wrong does not exist-yet. The innocence of being in the Garden of Eden. Being able to receive the love of the other.
Closed, shielded, embittered and hard hearted: the wounds are too great; “I shut down I can’t feel…”
Black heart: hurting on purpose to “get even . The paradox of emotional “fairness”-)
Clear
Diamond clarity and sentience.
Like a pool of water that simply reflects, and does not color or judge.
Clear heart is the connection from throat to heart, with a voice that is crystal clear: nothing to hide, no tricks and no games. Seeing all and reflecting back without opinion, simply compassion.
Cloudy heart: indecision, not knowing which way to go, unable to see what troubles someone. Being obsessed with your own “stuff”.
Strong
Courageous, holding your ground, like a lion, or a queen or king. Being able to look at everything with absolute equanimity because you have nothing and nobody to fear.
Without this, your heart can live, but it can not fly!
Yellow-bellied, lily-livered, indecisive, prevaricating, holding back, tentative, and diffident.
Being subservient to others because you lack the courage to stand for your own actions.
* * *
So- this is the alchemy of your heart qualities.
With time and practice, you’ll become more sensitive and able to tune into the truth that is living in your heart.
I wish you a rich and honest discovery!
